OKTOBERFEST 2024 TAPPING CEREMONY

Join us for the launch of our annual Oktoberfest celebrations! We're kicking things off with our take on a traditional Tapping Ceremony!


In Munich, the Mayor will usually tap the first keg of the festival. Now, we won't have the Mayor, but we will have Lee, who will do his best to look official! And most importantly have is a party keg of Paulaner's Oktoberfest beer which we'll tap on the bar for you all to see and then we'll serve it straight away to you lovely ticket holders!


Your ticket includes a welcome drink, Stein of Oktoberfest beer (or a large glass of wine) and a Sausage plate - bratwurst style sausage (meat or vegan) served with sauerkraut, mustard and a pretzel.

Yasssssssss it's BEER CHRISTMAS! Oktoberfest is back and we can't wait! We'll have beers from some of the best German breweries around, plus German inspired food, and of course all the brass band bangers and covers on the speakers.

GREEN HOP SHOWCASE
08-13 OCTOBER
Hops used most often in beer brewing are usually dried - Green Hop Beer is beer made with fresh (green) hops. The beers have a distinctive taste because the hops used contain oils that are normally lost during the hop drying process.

During Green Hop season breweries will use hops as fresh as possible, usually within 12 hours of being picked, which means we get to try some fantastic, fresh and limited edition beers!

We'll be showcasing a range of fantastic Kentish breweries including Iron Pier (Gravesend), Northdown (Margate) and Docker (Hythe).

SEWING SOCIAL WITH MISS GINGERS
EVERY 1ST WEDS OF THE MONTH | FROM 6.30PM
Bring along your own projects to work on at this monthly meet up. Sewing, knitting, embroidery, crochet... if you can do it on your lap/at the table then bring it along. This is not a workshop, it's a chance to socialise and get creative with other like minded crafters over a drink or two. Organised by Verity from Miss Gingers Fabric Shop on the Old High Street.
CHARITY QUIZ NIGHT WITH QUIZMASTER PIP
EVERY 2ND WEDS OF THE MONTH | 8-10.30PM
​Join us every second Wednesday of the month for our new monthly general knowledge quiz night!
£3 per player, maximum of 6 people per team.
Arrival from 7pm, the quiz starts promptly at 8pm.
There will be prizes to be won, but the main prize is bragging rights as we'll be donating a chunk of the proceeds to charity each month.
Tables are available to book for teams of 2, 4 or 6 players via the link below.

COLLAGE CLUB
EVERY 3RD WEDS OF THE MONTH | 7-9PM | £5
Following the success of our International Women's Day Collage Event in March 2022, we're joining forces with artist Sarah Lloyd to bring you a monthly collage making social.
Each month will have a theme and materials will be provided (although feel free to bring your own along if there's anything specific you'd like to use).
To ensure that everyone attending has enough space to work, there will be a limited number of places each month.
Spaces will be available to book online for £5 per person around the start of each month, and this money will be used towards the cost of materials and artist fee.

GAMES NIGHT
EVERY 4TH WEDS OF THE MONTH | FROM 6.30PM
We're teaming up with Tim from Objectables (if you haven't been to their shop on The Old High Street, then you really should!!!) to bring you a night of fun, silly and probably quite loud gaming every 4th Wednesday of the month.
You can choose to join in a group game or borrow a game to play at your table. From time to time we'll also run tournaments where you can win prizes.
