The Beer Shop Folkestone is a small, friendly bar that serves a carefully selected range of canned, bottled, cask and keg beer. Plus proper cider, a selection of spirits, wines, soft drinks, teas, drip coffees and delicious snacks for when you need a nibble to go with your drink. You can also buy your beer to take away if you want to enjoy it at home. We sell beer gift boxes too.
We believe in... Welcoming spaces (for people and dogs!). Knowledgeable, friendly and approachable staff. Background music and chatting with friends and neighbours. Independent breweries, beer that's been looked after and having a nice place to drink it.

who we are

LAUREN |
Hi, we're Lee and Lauren, a married couple who have been running our own business for just over six years at our other site The Beer Shop London. Lee is a beer obsessed, beardy man who has worked in and run pubs for years. Lauren is passionate about supporting small and local businesses and keeping the stock room tidy! We moved to Folkestone in 2019 and are looking forward to getting to know our Folkestone neighbours over a beer or two.
OUR TEAM
We have a small, fantastic team supporting us and helping things run smoothly: Ophie, Paul, James and Pip. If we're not around, you're in very safe hands with this lot!
WHAT WE STOCK
BEER
Our product range changes all the time but we always try to have a selection of Kentish breweries such as: Docker, Iron Pier and Time & Tide.
We also stock some of the UK's favourite breweries such as Beak, Burning Sky and The Kernel.
CIDER
We love our local Kentish Cider Makers so you'll more than likely see some Turners, Kentish Pip or Nightingales on the taps and in the fridge.
We're also partial to Olivers, Celtic Marches and Ascension...
WINE & SPIRITS
Our range includes Kentish brands such as Westwell wines, Dockyard Gin, Vela vodka and Westerhalls Rum.
The rest of our wine range focuses on natural, biodynamic wines from around the world.
TEA & COFFEE
We serve drip coffee from a rotating range of coffee roasteries. Currently you'll find Dark Arts and Workshop Coffee.
Our teas are from Good & Proper Tea who are based South East London.
Our whole milk comes from Plurenden Farm in Ashford and the Oat Milk is from Minor Figures.
SNACKS
We serve a selection of small plates which includes cheese from Neals Yard Dairy, Charcuterie from Crown & Queue and a selection of tinned fish and olives. These are served with Docker sourdough and butter from Plurenden Farm.
There are also always plenty of classic bar snacks to choose from; crisps, nuts, pork scratchings and a range of nibbles from Serious Pig.
